Asystec have a strong commitment to the community and strive to always show compassion and care in giving back to the community that has helped us become the successful company we are today. Corporate social responsibility has become an integral part of the company ethos with philanthropy, fundraising and volunteering ingrained in the company culture.
“There is a very strong culture of giving back to the community, whether it is financial contributions, time off to do volunteer work, or corporate social responsibility activities. I am very proud of the social commitment here at Asystec. Our philanthropic work and volunteerism isn’t just a department or policy – it’s really a culture of giving that runs deep in the company DNA. It feels good to be a part of it.”
Asystec aim to make a positive impact on our community, and we aim to do this through 4 strategic pillars.
At Asystec, we run a number of fundraising activities during the year to reflect causes that have touched many of our people whether directly or indirectly. Just some of the organisations that we support throughout the years include: The Laura Lynn Foundation, The Bubblegum Club, Temple Street, Pieta House, The Irish Cancer Society, St. Vincent de Paul, and many more.
Random Act of Kindness
Asystec also host a Random Act of Kindness programme each quarter. The programme invites employees to nominate a charity, organisation or worthy cause, to be in with a chance of receiving a monetary donation from Asystec. Previous charities that have been supported by this programme include Jigsaw Mental Health Services and Limerick Suicide Watch. We are proud to have supported many local, regional and national charities and organisations in this way, and we look forward to continuing the programme for 2020 and beyond.
Go Bloody Home.. Time off for Asystec Blood Donors
The Go Bloody Home Campaign is a new initiative launched by Asystec whereby the organisation will allow employees to donate blood during the work day or leave work early to donate blood.3,000 donations are needed each week in Ireland to keep up with the constant demand for blood and 1 in 4 Irish people will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives. For those that are able and willing to give blood we can all play our part and make a difference. The campaign will see the organisation schedule group outings to nearby blood donation clinics 3 or 4 times yearly.
With clinics all across Ireland donating has never been easier and we are proud to play are part. Why not check out the Irish Blood Transfusion Service Website and find a clinic close to you.
Asystec actively encourages its employees to become immersed in community activities and volunteering. The companies proactive approach to charity encourages our employees to get involved in making the lives of others. Asystec employees have been involved in fundraising for many worthy causes, both local, regional and national. Asystec is also proud to exercise a “Matched Funds” policy whereby employees can submit a proposal to the company showcasing a fundraising initiate they organized or were involved in organizing, and the company math the figure raised.
We feel good when we do good, and Asystec is delighted to play our part in sponsoring Cannonball Ireland in 2018, 2019, 2021. ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much'.
Asystec is also proud to sponsor Garryowen Football Club. For a business that has grown from its small Limerick roots to an international business with almost 50 employees. It is important to the company that we remain connected and supportive of our local limerick roots.
Asystec and all of our employees aim to facilitate future growth, be good environmental stewards, and positively impact our communities. As we grow, we are mindful of our ecological footprint and the impact on our local communities and proactively seek environmentally responsible ways to operate our business better. Our internal CleanGreen program administers the company’s environmental policy. Some of the ways we do that include energy-efficient and automatic time-lapse lighting to ensure lighting is in operation only when rooms are occupied.
Our teams use laptops instead of desktop computers. Heating and cooling within the business premises are limited to areas and times where occupants are present. Each office has a strict recycling and composting policy. Business travel and direct contact with customers is an essential part of our business. However, we leverage technology to ensure that we can communicate with our customers remotely and minimise the need for business travel as much as possible. We are altering the procurement policy of our company to choose suppliers and contractors that adopt best environmental practices.
